  1. Can I find out if my PC supports USB and where can I acquire USB Ready?

In Win 98 or 98/SE, download the free USB evaluation utility (http://www.usb.org/data/usbready.exe) that would examine your PC's hardware and software to inform you of your PC's USB capabilities. If your PC was made: before or during 1996 it probably doesn't support USB, during 1997 it probably supports USB, during and after 1998 then it does supports USB. The USBReady will tell you if your PC supports USB, but it will not be able to find the USB ports on it.

  2. How should USB devices be installed?

Supposedly that you have a PC running Microsoft Windows OS, follow these steps: First, make sure that there are USB connectors on the outside of the PC. Secondly, upgrade to Microsoft Windows 98 if you are not using it. Thirdly, install any software needed for the device. Lastly, Just simply plug in the necessary device.
